A narrated journey through classical music designed especially for children (more suitable age 6+) and parents. The concert is an introduction to some of the most popular pieces by famous composers. This afternoon programme is a shortened version of the previous evening (each half is about 35 minutes). An ideal introduction to orchestral classical music for all the family!

A programme of music personally selected by our conductor, Geoffrey Bushell, to celebrate his 25 years with St Giles Orchestra. As well as the epic and emotional "Pathétique", the programme includes a rarely heard selection of gorgeous romantic songs by unjustly neglected Swedish composers, and the Swedish Rhapsody whose famous tune you are bound to know!
To help us celebrate our 100th concert, SGO was delighted to welcome international soprano Yukiko Ishida to sing with us - she travelled from Pennsylvania, USA especially for this concert! See large photo

Another concert selected by SGO members, including Bogatyryev's completion and orchestration of Tchaikovsky's seldom played Seventh Symphony, of which the first movement is better known in another form as his Third Piano Concerto.
